Redtail is a customer relationship system for American advisers, now part of Orion. Its pages talk about SEC and FINRA guidelines, broker-dealer approval and an archive of notes, email, texts and documents. Briefi is not a CRM of that kind. It captures the meeting, drafts what follows, and keeps the fee arrangement, the signed paperwork and the document requests on one household record. A US adviser who must supervise and archive every message should look at Redtail. A practice outside the US, or one that wants meetings and signatures kept with the client, should look at Briefi. Redtail’s pages do not say whether it is sold in Australia.

Redtail is a system of record; Briefi is a record of the client work. Many practices would run one beside the other, and this page does not pretend they are the same thing.
One client, start to finish
One client, start to finish
An adviser prepares a yearly review for an existing household, holds the meeting, files what was said, follows up and collects a signed document. What we show for Redtail is limited to the wording of its pages, read on 16 October 2026.
1
Prepare for the review
Redtail
Review Prep is one of five AI tools built into the CRM. It is part of the Growth plan, is not offered on Launch, and is subject to broker-dealer approval.3
Briefi
A brief is written before you meet, drawn from what Briefi already holds on the household and what is still open.
2
Hold the meeting
Redtail
The announcement of its AI tools does not describe recording or transcribing a meeting, and says the tools work with the data in the CRM and nothing else.3
Briefi
Briefi joins by bot from Pro, records in the browser, or uses the standalone recorder in the room. The transcript stays with the meeting.
3
File the note
Redtail
Notes are entered and archived through a compliant note feature with templates, and its assistant can log a note when asked.23
Briefi
The recap lands on the client’s meeting with the actions listed. Reminders for the actions come with Pro and up.
4
Follow up
Redtail
Email to and from the client is captured and archived automatically, and the assistant can create the follow-up.23
Briefi
The follow-up is drafted in Briefi for you to check, then sent from your own Gmail, Microsoft 365 or SMTP mailbox.
5
Collect a signed document
Redtail
Imaging stores documents with audit trails. Signing is not mentioned on the pages we read.21
Briefi
The document goes out for signature and comes back with its certificate page. The client can upload anything you asked for through a request.
Where Redtail wins
When Redtail is the better choice
Where the deciding point is archiving, scale or an existing tool list, Redtail is the likelier fit.
Archiving
Supervision-ready archiving
Redtail lists compliant note entry and archiving, automatic capture of client email, and texting that is fully archived and sits inside the CRM. Imaging adds audit trails. Briefi keeps an audit log but does not archive your email or texts for a US regulator.2
Scale
A large US adviser base
Its pricing page says it is trusted by more than one hundred thousand advisers, and the home page speaks to solo practices, enterprises and broker-dealers alike.21
Ecosystem
A long list of connected tools
Redtail says it connects with more than a hundred tools and names Orion, Schwab and eMoney. Briefi pushes a meeting to a CRM or lets another tool read through its API, and more connections are rolling out progressively.1
Entry
A low, published way in
The Launch tier is priced per user for up to five users, the Growth tier has no user limit, and the home page offers a thirty-day trial with no card. The pricing page lists database conversions as complimentary.21
Where Briefi is different
The meeting, the fee and the signature in one place.
Redtail is strongest as the filing cabinet. Briefi is strongest at what happens in the room and straight after it.
A recording that becomes the recapMeetings
The meeting is transcribed, a recap is written in the language it was held in, and the actions are kept in a register you can check against the transcript.
The ongoing fee and its consentAdvisor
Each ongoing fee arrangement carries its reference day, and Briefi shows it as current, open, due or lapsed against an Australian consent window. This applies to Australian workspaces only.
Signing without a second productSign
The fee agreement goes out for a drawn or typed signature, and a certificate page records the time, device and location. The signed copy is filed to the client.
Collecting payment from your clients is not something Briefi does today. Recaps follow the meeting’s language, while the app and its built-in forms are English only.
How the whole record fits together is on the Advisor page.
Pricing
Pricing compared
A Briefi plan is priced per plan, not per user, and its seats, the size of your book and allowances are spelled out beside it on the pricing page. Redtail’s figures are as its pricing page shows them on the date given. That page names no currency, so none is stated here and nothing has been converted.
Advisor Solo
From A$49 a month
100 form requests per user each month
8 capture hours each month
Monthly or annual billing
Figures from Briefi’s live price list
Redtail
From $39 a month for each user on Launch, billed yearly, as shown on their pricing page
Launch: $39 a month for each user billed yearly, or $45 billed monthly, for at most five users
Growth: $59 a month for each user billed yearly, or $65 billed monthly, with no limit on users, adding imaging and texting
Enterprise: customisable, with a minimum licence commitment
Its AI tools are part of Growth and are not offered on Launch
The page offers a free trial of Growth for new users only, and the home page says no card is needed
Briefi prices are in AUD and are read from the same price list as the pricing page, so they change when it does.
Questions
Briefi and Redtail, asked often
Is Redtail available in Australia?
None of the Redtail pages we read says. Its language is American, with SEC and FINRA guidelines and a US sales number. We have not compared it as if it were sold here, and you should ask Redtail before you assume it is.
Is Briefi a CRM like Redtail?
No. Briefi holds clients and their meetings, fee arrangements, documents and signatures, but it is built around the work done with a client rather than around archiving every message. Plenty of practices keep a CRM beside it. A meeting can be pushed to a CRM from Pro and on the Advisor plans, and more connections are rolling out progressively.
Which CRMs can Briefi push a meeting to today?
GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Monday, Pipedrive, Close, Copper, ActiveCampaign, Salesforce, Zoho CRM and Microsoft Dynamics 365. The public API, on Business and up and on the Advisor plans, also lets another tool read Briefi’s meetings and contacts.
Does Briefi meet SEC and FINRA record-keeping rules?
Briefi makes no claim to. It keeps an audit log for owners and admins, but it is not built as a supervisory archive for US broker-dealers. If that duty applies to you, Redtail’s archiving is the more natural fit.
Will Briefi record my client meetings?
Yes. A bot joins from Pro, the browser records there too, and the standalone recorder handles a meeting in person. The recap is written in the language the meeting was held in.
Which Redtail plan has the AI tools?
The announcement says the five tools are part of the Growth plan and are not available to Launch users, and that they are subject to broker-dealer approval. The tools are Review Prep, Workflow Builder, Smart Search, an assistant and Contact Import, and Redtail says they use the data in its CRM and nothing else.
Can I try Briefi without leaving my CRM?
Yes. Leave the CRM as it is and run new meetings through Briefi alongside it. Contacts come from your calendar attendees or are added by hand, and Briefi has no contact import from a spreadsheet.
