Every engagement you run, and what each side still owes.
For business advisers, management consultants, fractional CFOs and COOs, and coaches on retained engagements. Briefi prepares and writes up your client meetings, keeps the actions each side agreed, puts every client on a review rhythm, and gets the proposal and engagement letter signed.

From the first call to the signed letter, on one record.
- BriefBefore you meet: where the engagement stands, and every action still open on both sides.
- MeetingCaptured and transcribed, or written up from the notes you dictate.
- RecapDecisions and actions with an owner, and a follow-up drafted for you to check.
- FormThe next step goes out: a check-in, a proposal or the engagement letter.
- Signed and filedEach signatory signs. The signed copy is filed to the client.
Four kinds of client meeting, and what comes after each.
Every meeting gets a brief before and a recap after: decisions, actions with an owner, and a follow-up drafted for you to check and send, filed to the client. What differs is the form that goes with it.
Sample data, drawn. Names are fictional.
Plenty of an adviser’s meetings are with suppliers, candidates or your own team. The brief leads with where an engagement stands only when the meeting is about one.
The proposal first. Then the engagement letter, then the signatures.
Forms open in a phone browser with no app to install, and each signatory signs for themselves.

A portal for the client
Clients see what they owe you and their goals, and upload what you ask for.
Sample data, drawn. You choose which goals and actions a client sees.
See which clients answer, and how fast.
Insight counts how quickly clients return what you send them, from forms actually sent and returned. Every figure has rows behind it.
- What is waiting on the client, and what you owe them, counted on every record.
- Goals with a number behind them. A target, a unit and a date, with readings noted as you go. Progress is measured from the first reading and shows once there are two.
- Support staff on free seats on Advisor Solo and Advisor Practice, so an assistant or analyst can chase files without a paid seat.

Real screen from a demo workspace.
What the record holds, and what it leaves out.
What we can state plainly, because it is true of every workspace today.
- Nothing read from their books. Briefi cannot see an accounting system or a bank feed. A review pack being ready is what you tick on the record, not something Briefi checks.
- Your workspace’s own key. Briefs, recaps, transcripts and your notes on each client are encrypted with it.
- The client sees what you choose. A goal or an action reaches the portal only when you mark it for the client, and the note beside a reading never does.
- The terms are yours. The engagement letter is a frame. Your terms, your professional body’s wording and the limits of your liability are added by you, and the version reads “not yet set” until you do.
Briefi keeps the record of what each side agreed, and when the next review falls. The advice you give, and your obligations to your clients and your professional body, stay with you.

Does Briefi connect to Xero, MYOB or our reporting tools?
No. Briefi cannot see an accounting system, a bank feed or a time-tracking tool. You keep the numbers where they are, and Briefi keeps the meetings, the actions and the review rhythm around them.
Which forms come ready to send?
Two documents and five check-ins, yours to copy and change. The engagement letter for advisory and fractional CFO work: you fill in the scope, the review rhythm, the fee and the start date, add your own terms, and a second signatory signs where one is needed. The advisory proposal: a staged proposal with the fee billed monthly or quarterly, add-ons you recommend and your standard terms. The check-ins are the consulting check-in (three questions), discovery, project status, the quarterly review and the renewal conversation.
How do review rhythms work?
A quarterly review comes ready: every three months, with a window from 21 days before it is due to 45 days after, not a single date. Put a client on it from their record. An owner or admin can add other cadences in Settings, monthly or six-weekly for example. You record a review as held, with its date, and the next one is counted from that date.
Does it lay out the work around each review?
Not yet. In a consulting workspace a review shows its window and the actions you attach to it. Dated steps back from the meeting, such as the information request, the review pack and the notes, are built for the financial advice setup and are not yet in the consulting one.
How does it track what each side owes?
Each action in the recap is yours or theirs, and you check it before it counts: an action Briefi has only picked up stays on its own meeting until you confirm or change it. The brief for the next meeting lists what is still open, and the client’s portal shows only the actions that are theirs.
Can I track a client’s goals?
Yes. A goal has a target, a unit and a date, and you note readings against it as you go. Progress is measured from the first reading towards the target, and it shows only once there are two readings. Show a goal on the client’s portal and they see each reading with its date, but not your notes.
How do file requests work?
Ask the client, or their bookkeeper by upload link, for exactly the files you need. Zipped folders are unpacked, and each file is accepted or marked not needed by a person on your team, never by Briefi.
Does it track my time?
Not yet. Briefi does not record hours against a client. The fee is set out in the proposal and the engagement letter, and your own tools stay in charge of time and billing.
Can assistants and analysts use it?
Yes. Advisor Solo includes one free support seat, and Advisor Practice includes one for each paid seat, four to start.
I advise several businesses of my own. Can I keep them apart?
Yes. One login covers every workspace you belong to, switched from the sidebar, and each workspace keeps its own clients, records and encryption key.
Does it work outside Australia?
Meetings, recaps, check-ins, signing and the client portal work anywhere. The ready-made forms are written for Australian practices, and you add your own terms before anything is sent.
