Midwinter and Briefi answer different questions. Midwinter’s AdviceOS is advice software for Australian practices, licensees and super funds, with modules for strategy, products, insurance and advice documents. Briefi is built around what happens with the client: the review meeting, the follow-up, the fee consent and the signature. Briefi does not write the Statement of Advice or compare products. A practice that wants a modular advice system should look at Midwinter. A practice whose gap is the meeting and the paperwork around it should look at Briefi, and the two can sit side by side.

One client, start to finish
One client, start to finish
A practice is preparing an annual review for a couple who have been clients for years. Midwinter’s side comes from its own pages as they stood on 16 October 2026.
1
Update the household picture
Midwinter
The Digital Fact Find lets clients provide and update their personal data in the portal, and the data is updated in AdviceOS automatically.4
Briefi
The practice asks for what is missing through a document request. The couple upload through a link sent to their own address, and the brief for the adviser collects earlier notes and open actions.
2
Agree objectives in the meeting
Midwinter
The Objectives Builder notifies the adviser when clients add or change objectives. Meeting capture is not described on the pages we read.4
Briefi
Briefi records the meeting through the bot, the browser or the face-to-face recorder, then lists what was decided and who owns each action.
3
Produce the document
Midwinter
Standard Advice Document templates come at no extra charge, and a managed option covers SOA, ROA, FDS and Fact Find for a low monthly fee.3
Briefi
Not produced by Briefi. The Statement of Advice comes from your advice platform, and the review journey can hold a step for presenting it.
4
Get it signed
Midwinter
Neither the portal page nor the integrations list names electronic signing, so we make no claim either way.45
Briefi
The agreement goes out for signing online and each partner signs on their own link. The signed PDF includes a certificate page with a SHA-256 digest.
5
Keep the file and the CRM current
Midwinter
Class holdings, estate planning and insurance search flow in through listed partners, and Worksorted syncs with the CRM.5
Briefi
The meeting and its outcome can be pushed to your CRM, and the follow-up leaves from your own mailbox so the thread stays in your sent items.
Where Midwinter wins
When Midwinter is the better choice
If any of these decides it, Midwinter is the better fit today.
Market
Built for licensees and super funds as well
Midwinter’s menu has separate sections for advice practices, licensees and super funds, and its home page shows figures of more than two thousand advisers and more than five hundred and fifty thousand Australians. Briefi serves the practice and the adviser.1
Documents
A full set of advice documents
Midwinter says its standard templates were reviewed by a financial services law firm and are updated with legislative changes, and the set covers SOA, ROA, FDS and Fact Find. Briefi writes none of them.3
Modules
Product, insurance and strategy modules
AdviceOS lists modules for products, insurance, strategy, advice concepts and key risk indicators, and its Omnium integration searches insurance providers. Briefi does no product comparison.25
Fact find
A digital fact find that feeds the file
Clients complete the Digital Fact Find in the portal and the answers update AdviceOS, and the adviser is notified when a client adds or changes an objective.4
Where Briefi is different
The meeting, the follow-up and the consent, kept together.
Briefi is for the practice that wants the hours around advice back. It runs alongside whatever produces your documents.
Notes that arrive without a typistMeetings
The bot joins Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, or you record in the browser or in the room. The recap lists decisions and actions, and the follow-up is drafted for you to read before it goes.
Ongoing fee consent on a calendar of its ownAdvisor
Briefi tracks each fee arrangement against its reference day and shows consent as current, open, due or lapsed for Australian workspaces, so a window is seen before it lapses.
Your book, not seats per moduleAdvisor
Briefi’s Advisor plans are priced per plan, with your book and the clients you worked with counted each month.
Briefi does not write advice documents, does not take payments from your clients today, and its identity checks are not available yet. The app and its built-in forms are English only.
How the whole record fits together is on the Advisor page.
Pricing
Pricing compared
Briefi prices each plan and shows the allowance beside it. Midwinter prices by module for each member of your team and publishes no figure.

Figures from Briefi’s live price list
Midwinter
From By module, not published
Midwinter says AdviceOS is priced on the modules each team member needs, and the base CRM is required for all users
Package options and volume discounts are mentioned without terms
Briefi prices are in AUD and are read from the same price list as the pricing page, so they change when it does.
Questions
Briefi and Midwinter, asked often
Does Briefi do what AdviceOS does?
No. AdviceOS is advice software with modules for strategy, products and documents. Briefi covers the meeting, the follow-up, the fee consent and the signature, and does not write advice documents.
Who owns Midwinter?
Midwinter’s footer says it is owned by Bravura Solutions. The product is called AdviceOS, and the login sits at adviceos.com.au.
Can I use Briefi and Midwinter at the same practice?
Yes. Midwinter holds the file and documents, and Briefi handles the review meeting and consent. Briefi connects today to ten CRMs and to Google, Microsoft 365 and CalDAV calendars, with more connections rolling out progressively.
Does Midwinter record meetings or sign documents?
The pages we read do not say. They describe a client portal with a fact find, an objectives builder and document sharing, and list partners that carry no notetaker or signature tool. Ask Midwinter directly before relying on either.
How is the cost different?
Midwinter charges per module for each team member and shows no figure. Briefi’s Advisor plans are priced per plan on its pricing page, with your book and the clients you worked with counted each month.
