Advisor, head to head

Briefi vs Moxo

Moxo runs business processes with people and AI agents, and the client end of that is a portal opened from a link, with no account to create. Its client portal page lists document requests, forms, eSignatures, scheduling, invoices, payments and identity checks in one place, and its security page names SOC 2 Type II. Briefi is narrower and sits closer to the adviser: it briefs you before each meeting, writes up the decisions with an owner for every action, and keeps the engagement letter and the requests for records on the same client record. Its home page pitches the orchestration of complex business operations, its customer stories include banks such as Scotiabank, and the pages we read show no price. If you need an orchestrated onboarding flow that collects payment and checks identity, look at Moxo. If you need the client conversation itself done well, start with Briefi.

Moxo orchestrates the process. Briefi looks after the conversation inside it. Where Moxo’s pages are silent on a feature, we have left the row out of the table instead of guessing.

One client, start to finish

One client, start to finish

A wealth or accounting practice brings on a new household. This follows what each product does from the first call to the annual review. Moxo’s cells report what its client portal, industry, security and home pages say, as read on 16 October 2026.

  1. 1

    Prepare for the first call

    Moxo

Its pages describe workflows and portals, not meeting preparation. They say an AI advisor agent gives your team answers with the evidence attached.2

    Briefi

The brief arrives before the call, built from the client’s record and any earlier contact, so the adviser opens knowing what was said and what is outstanding.

  2. 2

    Hold the meeting

    Moxo

Scheduling, video calls and secure messaging are listed under Meet. Recording or summarising a meeting is not described on the pages read.2

    Briefi

The meeting is captured on a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call, or recorded face to face, and the recap lists decisions and each action with its owner.

  3. 3

    Send the agreement

    Moxo

The client opens one secure link, with no account or password, and signs from the portal. Approvals and acknowledgements sit beside the signature.2

    Briefi

The engagement letter goes out in your own wording, with the fee schedule inside the signed digest. Each signatory signs on their own link.

  4. 4

    Collect records and confirm identity

    Moxo

Document requests, forms and uploads are collected, a reviewer agent checks each submission for completeness, and identity checks sit in the same place.2

    Briefi

A request for records goes out, and your team accepts or waives each file. Checking identity is not available in Briefi yet.

  5. 5

    Take payment

    Moxo

Invoices and payments are listed in the same portal as signatures and document requests.2

    Briefi

Not today. Clients cannot pay inside Briefi yet, so the fee is collected in your existing billing tool.

  6. 6

    Review the year

    Moxo

Its accounting page says every response, handoff and approval is stored automatically with audit-ready history.3

    Briefi

The annual review is briefed from the year’s recaps and open actions, and the next review is counted from the date this one is recorded as held.

Where Moxo wins

When Moxo is the better choice

If your needs look like these, Moxo is probably the stronger tool today.

Onboarding

Payment and identity checks in the same portal

Moxo lists invoices, payments and identity checks beside document requests and signatures in the client’s one page. Briefi signs and collects documents, but does not take payments from your clients today and has no identity checks yet.2

Operations

Workflows run by people and agents

Moxo describes agents that draft documents, pre-fill forms and check submissions, working inside permissions you set, with every action on the record. That suits a team running a high volume of the same process.12

Deployment

Choices about where it runs

Its security page offers private cloud, multi-tenant or on-premises deployment, and its home page lists SAML single sign-on among its controls.51

Assurance

Stated SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3

Moxo’s security page says it is SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 certified, and describes an audit trail of seven or more years.5

Where Briefi is different

The conversation, not just the workflow.

A process can run perfectly and still leave the adviser walking into the meeting cold. Briefi puts its effort there.

  • Walk in knowing the clientMeetings

The brief is generated before the meeting from the client’s record and what is still open, so the first five minutes are not spent reconstructing the last conversation.

  • A recap in the meeting’s own languageMeetings

Decisions and actions with an owner are written in the language the meeting was held in, so a bilingual practice is not forced into English.

  • The signed letter with its fee insideSign

The fee schedule is part of the signed document, so changing it means an amendment that the client signs, and initials carry forward from the first signing.

Briefi has no identity checks yet and does not take payments from your clients today. Where either is essential, pair it with a tool that does both.

How the whole record fits together is on the Advisor page.

Pricing

Pricing compared

We could not find a price for Moxo on any page we read, so there is no figure to set beside Briefi’s. Briefi’s own price is set by plan and never by user, and its pricing page shows each one.

Questions

Briefi and Moxo, asked often

Is Briefi a substitute for Moxo?

Not for a team that needs payment and identity checks inside an onboarding flow. Briefi covers the meeting, the signed letter and the requests for records, and it does neither of those two.

Do Moxo’s clients need an account?

Its pages say not. Clients open a secure link and act from it, with no sign-up or password.

Can the two sit side by side?

Yes. Moxo can run the onboarding flow while Briefi holds the meetings and the recaps. There is no built-in connection between them, so client details are entered in each.

Where does my client data sit?

Briefi stores it in Sydney, and some processing uses providers overseas, named on its Security page. A different region is available on request for Enterprise. Moxo’s page describes private cloud, multi-tenant and on-premises options, and we did not read a statement about Australia.

Does Briefi connect to my CRM?

Meetings can be pushed to ten CRM products on Pro and up and on the Advisor plans. There is no built-in link to accounting software.
