Billable time becomes the invoice
Accelo describes time captured as work is logged, budget variances flagged early and invoices generated from the engagement. Briefi has no time tracking, no timesheets and no invoicing from hours.5
Accelo calls itself AI-powered PSA software, which it says connects project management, resources, time tracking and financials into one operational system, and lists consulting, accounting, engineering, architecture and agency firms among the businesses it serves. Briefi is not that. It has no time tracking, resource planning or timesheets, and it does not take payments from your clients today. What it does is the client conversation: a brief before each meeting, a recap with an owner beside every action, and the engagement letter signed and filed on the same record. If your firm runs on billable hours and utilisation, Accelo does the work Briefi will not. If the weak spot is what happens in and between client meetings, start with Briefi.
What each does today. Accelo’s side is taken only from the pages linked beside each line. Where its pages are silent we say nothing, and we do not read silence as a missing feature.

Accelo measures the work. Briefi looks after the client conversation around it. Accelo’s pages do not mention an engagement letter signed with its fee inside the document, so that row is not scored.
A consultancy wins a retained client. This follows what each product does from the scoping conversation to the review. Accelo’s cells report what its client management, client portal, consulting and security pages say, as read on 16 October 2026.
Quotes are built from the scope and rates already worked out, with status tracked as published, sent, approved or declined, and each revision kept with a reason.4
A brief is ready before the scoping call, and the recap sets out decisions and owned actions. A proposal then goes out to accept, followed by the engagement letter.
Opportunities carry their scope and rates into delivery, so what was proposed can be compared with what is being delivered.4
The letter is signed on each signatory’s own link, the fee schedule is inside what they signed, and the signed copy is filed to the client.
Billable time is captured as work is logged, budget variances are flagged, and realisation rates are monitored by client, engagement and consultant.5
Not something Briefi does. It has no time tracking, so hours stay in your timesheet tool, and Briefi holds the actions both sides owe.
The Client Workspace shows project health, milestones, a read-only timeline, client-owned tasks and retainer hours used against budget.3
On the Advisor plans, a client portal shows the goals and actions you choose to share, and a status check-in goes out before each review.
Invoices are generated from engagement activity, and the pages describe finance getting clearer visibility into changes that affect revenue or margin.54
Not today. Clients cannot pay inside Briefi, and it builds no invoices from hours.
Business intelligence shows which clients, services and engagements earn the most, and where utilisation and margin are heading.5
The renewal meeting is briefed from the last review and every open action, and what was agreed is written into the recap, with a fresh letter sent to sign.
If your firm is run on hours and margin, Accelo is probably the right pick today.
Accelo describes time captured as work is logged, budget variances flagged early and invoices generated from the engagement. Briefi has no time tracking, no timesheets and no invoicing from hours.5
Its pages describe forecasting capacity gaps before they reach the delivery schedule, and using AI to match skills and experience to engagements. Briefi does not plan capacity.45
Accelo’s consulting page describes analysing profitability by client, engagement type and service line, and tracking utilisation and margin trends.5
Its home page lists Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage Intacct beside HubSpot and Salesforce. Briefi has no built-in connection to accounting software.1
A project system tells you how the work is going. Briefi concentrates on what the client said, what you promised and what is still owed.
The register holds what you owe the client and what they owe you, each with an owner, and the next brief lists whatever remains open before you meet.
Every client is on a review schedule with a window around the due date. Marking a review held starts the count for the next, so quiet clients do not slip past.
Because the fee schedule sits inside the signed digest, a scope change is an amendment the client signs, with initials from the first signing carried forward.
Briefi tracks no hours and plans no capacity. A firm that bills on time keeps Accelo, or another time system, for that.
How the whole record fits together is on the Advisor page.
Accelo’s pricing page shows no figures. It says pricing is based on team size and growth goals, and it asks you to request a quote. Briefi is priced by plan and never by seat, and its own page lists what each plan holds.
Briefi prices are in AUD and are read from the same price list as the pricing page, so they change when it does.
What Accelo’s help articles say about getting data out, and what you set up again in Briefi. Both articles were read on 16 October 2026, and we found no article on cancelling an account.
An admin chooses Full Data Export (SQL) from Import and Exports in the Admin section. The article suggests treating it as a backup of your data, and you can select the record types you need or the entire database.7
Accelo emails a link when the export finishes, and the files are only available for six hours after that email. The download is an SQL file saved as a zip.7
The full export is an SQL file, so it needs a database tool to read. The article does not describe a spreadsheet export of the full set. It notes that G Suite users must set a password to reach the web file system where the data is held.7
Deleting a company also deletes its sales, tickets, projects, retainers, invoices, receipts, tasks and activities. Review what you hold before removing anything.8
Time entries, rates, budgets and invoice history have no home in Briefi, which has no time tracking and takes no payments, so keep them in your export. Contacts are not imported from Accelo: they come in from the meetings on your calendar, or you add them by hand. Quote and engagement letter wording is rebuilt as templates in Briefi.
No. Briefi has no time tracking, timesheets or resource planning. A firm that bills on time keeps a time system for that.
Yes. Accelo can run delivery, time and billing while Briefi holds the meetings, the recaps and the signed engagement letters. They are not connected, so neither updates the other.
In outline, both give a client a branded page to see progress. Accelo’s adds project health, timelines and retainer burn, while Briefi’s shows the goals and actions you choose to share, and it is available on the Advisor plans.
Briefi stores client data in Sydney and names its overseas providers on the Security page. Accelo’s security page says it uses AWS in multiple global regions, and we did not find the region for its main platform.
No. There is no built-in connection to either. Where your plan includes the API, your accounting tool or a developer can read Briefi’s contacts and meetings from it.
