The client pays inside the same flow
HoneyBook accepts cards, bank transfers and digital wallets, and its plan comparison lists autopay, payment plans and payment reminders. Clients cannot pay you through Briefi yet.1
HoneyBook describes itself as client relationship software for creatives, consultants, marketers and event professionals, and its strength is the path from an enquiry to a paid invoice: proposals, contracts, invoices and card or bank payments sit in one flow. Briefi is built for the conversation that surrounds an engagement, and it does not take payments from your clients today. It briefs you before each meeting, writes up the decisions with an owner beside every action, and keeps the signed engagement letter with its fee schedule on the same client record. If getting paid inside the tool is the job, HoneyBook is the better fit. If the quality of the meetings and the follow-through between them is the job, start with Briefi.
What each does today. Every HoneyBook cell links to the page it came from, and anything we could not read there is left out.

HoneyBook gets the client paid. Briefi looks after what is said before, during and after the meeting. HoneyBook’s pages do not say it holds a register of a client’s entities or a request for documents that your team accepts or waives, but silence is not proof, so neither is scored.
A consultant takes on a new retained client. This follows what each product does from the first enquiry to the renewal conversation. HoneyBook’s cells report what its pricing page, CRM page and help articles say, as read on 16 October 2026.
Lead forms capture the enquiry, up to two live on Starter and up to ten on Essentials, and a scheduler on Essentials lets the client book your time.1
The call sits on your calendar, and a brief is ready before it starts, drawn from whatever the record already holds about this person or business.
A meeting notetaker is listed under HoneyBook AI, capturing notes from online or in-person meetings, and the home page says it summarises to-dos.12
The call is captured, or the meeting is recorded face to face. The recap sets out decisions and actions, each with an owner, and a follow-up draft is ready to check and send from your own mailbox.
Its proposals are described as letting clients book, sign and pay from a single file, with eSignatures on contracts.1
A proposal goes out to accept, then the engagement letter with its fee schedule. Each signatory signs on their own link, and the signed copy is filed to the client.
Invoices can be one-time, recurring or on a custom schedule, with card, bank transfer and wallet payments and optional autopay.1
Not today. Clients cannot settle an invoice inside Briefi yet, so billing runs in the tool you already use.
A shared portal holds project details, files and notes, and a customisable pipeline moves each project through your stages.31
Actions from every recap go on one register for both sides, and a status check-in goes out before each review. Clients on the Advisor plans can see the goals and actions you choose to share.
Project recaps are listed as summaries received ahead of dates or milestones, and recurring invoices can run on a schedule you set.1
The renewal conversation is briefed from the last review and the open actions. What was agreed for the new term goes into the recap, and a fresh letter goes out to sign.
If one of these is the deciding factor for your business, HoneyBook is probably the right pick today.
HoneyBook accepts cards, bank transfers and digital wallets, and its plan comparison lists autopay, payment plans and payment reminders. Clients cannot pay you through Briefi yet.1
On the US version of its pricing page, HoneyBook’s lowest plan is twenty-nine US dollars a month billed yearly, with unlimited clients and projects, and a thirty day trial that asks for no card.1
Its pricing page says the team will turn files you already use, such as pricing lists, questionnaires and contracts, into ready-to-use templates for free.1
HoneyBook lists a QuickBooks Online integration on Essentials and above. Briefi has no built-in connection to accounting software.1
HoneyBook is strongest once the client has said yes. Briefi concentrates on the part where you earn that yes and keep the engagement healthy.
Before a quarterly review, the brief opens with where the engagement stands and every action still open on both sides, rather than a summary of project activity.
Each client sits on a review rhythm with a window either side of the due date. Recording a review as held starts the count for the next one.
Because the fee schedule is inside what is signed, a change in scope or fee goes out as an amendment, and initials from the first signing carry forward.
Briefi does not take payments from your clients today, and has no built-in link to an accounting product. Pair it with whichever tool you already bill from.
How the whole record fits together is on the Advisor page.
HoneyBook is priced by plan with a team-member limit on the lower tiers. Its figures here are in US dollars as shown on the US version of its pricing page, with the billing period it states, and two of them carry a limited-time discount. We did not read its Australian prices. Briefi’s own price is set per plan and never per user, so a larger team does not change it.
Briefi prices are in AUD and are read from the same price list as the pricing page, so they change when it does.
What HoneyBook’s help articles say about getting your data out, and what you set up again in Briefi. Both articles were read on 16 October 2026.
Under Clients, then Contacts, the triple-dot menu offers Download spreadsheet. The CSV covers name, email, phone number, address, notes and the date each contact was created.4
The export article covers the contacts list only. We did not find an article on exporting projects, files, invoices or payment history, so ask HoneyBook’s support what it can supply before you cancel.4
After you cancel, existing projects and information stay available, but you can no longer create files or projects or send messages. Cancelling does not delete the account, and permanent deletion goes through support.5
HoneyBook offers a sixty day money-back guarantee from the membership start date. Refunds are not automatic, and none are processed outside that window.5
Invoices, payment methods and autopay stay with HoneyBook or move to whichever tool you bill from next, because Briefi does not take payments from your clients today. Engagement letter templates are rebuilt in Briefi, where you can import a Word or PDF file as the starting point. Briefi has no import from HoneyBook, so contacts are added by hand or arrive from the meetings on your calendar.
No. Briefi does not take payments from your clients today, so invoicing and collection stay in HoneyBook or whichever tool you bill from.
Yes. HoneyBook can hold the proposal, the invoice and the payment while Briefi holds the meetings, the recaps and the signed engagement letter. The two are not connected, so client details are kept in each by hand.
Its plan comparison lists a meeting notetaker for online and in-person meetings. Briefi’s difference is what surrounds the notes: a brief before, owned actions after, and the recap filed to the client.
No. A recap is written in the language the meeting was held in. Only the app’s own screens and its built-in forms and PDFs are in English.
No. Briefi has no built-in connection to QuickBooks, Xero or MYOB. On the plans that include the API, a developer can read your Briefi contacts and meetings from it.
