AdviserLogic is Australian financial planning software, now Morningstar’s, built around the adviser’s planning work: cashflow modelling, digital advice and Morningstar’s data and research. Its Evolve AI drafts file notes from a Teams call or a voice recording, prepares you for a meeting and flags what may have changed in a fact find. Briefi does not model strategy or write the advice document. It is the meeting, follow-up, document and signing layer, with the client record around them. An adviser who lives in planning software and wants AI inside it should look at AdviserLogic first. One whose gap is the client conversation and everything that follows it could run Briefi beside whichever planning tool they already have.

Planning tool and client record. AdviserLogic is where the advice is modelled and written. Briefi is where the meeting, the follow-up and the signature are kept. On the Advisor plans Briefi pushes meetings to ten CRMs and syncs Google, Microsoft 365 and CalDAV calendars, and more connections are rolling out progressively.
One client, start to finish
One client, start to finish
A couple five years from retirement come in for a review after one of them changed jobs. AdviserLogic’s side comes from Morningstar’s pages as read on 16 October 2026, and where Evolve is involved it says so. Briefi’s side is what ships today.
1
Prepare before they arrive
AdviserLogic
With Evolve, AI Client Insights prepares you for the meeting.2
Briefi
A brief is generated from the client record before you meet.
2
Hold the conversation
AdviserLogic
AI File Note drafts a structured note from a Teams call or a mobile voice recording, which you review.2
Briefi
Capture it by bot on a call, in the browser, or with the standalone recorder across the desk. The recap lists decisions and actions with an owner on each.
3
Update what you know about them
AdviserLogic
Fact Find sync flags what may have changed, for you to review and approve.2
Briefi
The couple answer a form and upload any missing files through a document request, and the answers sit on their record.
4
Build and write the advice
AdviserLogic
Cashflow modelling is the core of the product, and AI Strategy Insights does the groundwork ahead of the SoA.12
Briefi
Not what Briefi does. The advice is modelled and written in your planning software, and Briefi holds the meeting record behind it.
5
Get consent signed and plan the next review
AdviserLogic
The pages we read do not describe a client signing anything.12
Briefi
The couple sign the engagement letter and fee schedule on their phones. A review journey sets the next steps, and the ongoing-fee consent window shows when consent is due.
Where AdviserLogic wins
When AdviserLogic is the better choice
If your day is spent building the advice, these are the reasons to start there.
Planning
Planning software with Morningstar behind it
The product page describes modern, easy-to-use planning software that streamlines advice delivery, simplifies compliance obligations and brings in Morningstar’s data and research. Briefi offers none of the modelling or research.1
AI in the plan
AI that sits next to the advice
Evolve is described as a native AI advice ecosystem built into AdviserLogic. It drafts file notes, prepares you for a meeting, flags what may have changed in a fact find and does groundwork for the SoA.2
Onboarding
A structured, supported start
Morningstar offers a tailored forty-day onboarding program that includes data migration, training and a dedicated customer success manager, plus an AI support assistant called Ava.1
Scale
An established Australian base
The page says it is trusted by over two and a half thousand Australian financial advice professionals. That is the vendor’s own figure.1
Where Briefi is different
The conversation, the paperwork and the review cycle.
Briefi covers what happens with the client rather than inside the model, and it keeps every step on one record.
Capture that does not depend on one call platformMeetings
A bot joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet, the browser records, and the standalone recorder handles the room. The recap follows whichever language the conversation used.
Engagement letters and fee schedules signed on the recordSign
Drawn or typed signatures, co-signing for couples on their own links, templates, fee schedules inside the signed digest, and a certificate page with the IP, device, location and times.
Reviews and the ongoing-fee windowAdvisor
Review journeys, registers for policies, loans, entities and claims, and, for Australian workspaces, an ongoing-fee consent window that opens sixty days before each anniversary and closes a hundred and fifty days after it.
Briefi does not take payments from your clients today, and identity checks are not yet available.
How the whole record fits together is on the Advisor page.

Questions
Briefi and AdviserLogic, asked often
Is AdviserLogic still its own company?
It is a Morningstar product. Morningstar Australasia’s product page carries it, and the old adviserlogic.com address leads only to a sign-in.
Does Briefi replace planning software?
No. Briefi does not model cashflow or write the advice document. It captures the meeting, drafts the follow-up, collects documents and gets letters signed, and holds each client’s registers and reviews.
How does Briefi’s meeting capture compare with the AI File Note?
Both turn a conversation into a note for you to review. The AI File Note works from a Teams call or a mobile voice recording. Briefi captures Zoom, Teams and Google Meet calls with a bot, records in the browser, and has a standalone recorder for face-to-face meetings, and the recap follows the language of the meeting.
Can I use Briefi beside AdviserLogic?
Yes. Briefi connects today to ten CRMs and to Google, Microsoft 365 and CalDAV calendars, with more connections rolling out progressively. Another tool can read Briefi’s meetings and contacts through its API on the Advisor plans, and the follow-up leaves from your own mailbox.
Where does Briefi keep client data?
Briefi’s app and database are in Sydney. Some processing uses providers overseas, which the Security page names, and sensitive content is encrypted under a key held for your workspace. The Morningstar pages we read do not state a hosting region.
Does Briefi draft a Statement of Advice?
No. It records the meeting that feeds the advice and keeps the signed paperwork, and leaves the advice document to your planning software.
