Advisor, head to head

Briefi vs Zocks

Both prepare an adviser for a meeting and draft the follow-up afterwards. Zocks is an assistant for financial services with a long list of planning, portfolio and CRM connections and a published three-tier price. Briefi is built around the Australian advice year: every ongoing fee, the consent window for each, signing and a client portal on the same record. If your stack is built on those connections, look at Zocks. If you work to Australian fee consent rules and want the signed copy filed to the household, look at Briefi.

Where Zocks wins

When Zocks is the better choice

If any of these decides it for you, Zocks is likely the better fit today.

Connections

A wide list of adviser software connections

Zocks cites 40+ two-way integrations and names Salesforce and eMoney on its home page. Its integrations page also lists Redtail, Wealthbox, Orion and Black Diamond, though it tags each card “Coming Soon”, so check which are live. Briefi has no connection to adviser planning software or platforms, and your team records each fee and policy.13

Forms

Forms filled in for you

Zocks lists automatic form filling and client profiles from its Professional tier, and document data extraction on Ultimate. Briefi gives you forms ready to copy and change, and the client completes and signs them.2

No recording

A design that keeps no recording

Zocks states that it never records your client conversations, and that no LLMs hold or train on your data. If a recording is something your practice does not want to hold, that is a real difference. Briefi records and transcribes, and the Security page sets out how that is stored.1

Price ladder

A published ladder of tiers

Zocks shows three tiers with monthly and annual prices, a 14-day free trial and a quote-only Enterprise tier.21

Assurance

A SOC 2 Type 2 report

Zocks states SOC 2 Type 2 on its security page.4

Where Briefi is different

Built around the Australian advice year.

Briefi keeps the fee, the consent and the meeting on one record, so you can see where each client stands.

  • Every ongoing fee, and the day its consent is dueAdvisor

A register of every ongoing fee arrangement with a reference day. Whether consent is current, open, due or lapsed is worked out each time, with a window from 60 days before to 150 days after the anniversary.

  • A lapse stays a lapseAdvisor

A year that closed without consent is not quietly revived when a later consent arrives. The arrangement leads the client’s record as “stop the fees”.

  • The guide, the fee agreement and the consent signedSign

Financial Services Guide, privacy statement and advice fee agreement go out in one link. Each client signs for themselves and the signed copy is filed to the household.

  • Document requests, policies and a client portalAdvisor

Document requests that clients answer by upload, policies you placed with a status that carries the date somebody last confirmed it, and an optional portal where clients see their fee arrangement.

Briefi does not write the Statement of Advice, and the advice and your duties stay with you. The consent windows are Australian law, so a workspace outside Australia has none. Written output is in English only.

Pricing

Pricing compared

Briefi charges a monthly plan price, with the seats and allowances each plan includes set out on the pricing page. Zocks lists a price for each user. Its figures are as shown on its pricing page on the date given, and the page names no currency; check it before you decide.

Questions

Briefi and Zocks, asked often

Do Briefi and Zocks do the same things?

They overlap on the meeting work: prep before the meeting and a follow-up afterwards. They differ elsewhere. Briefi adds the fee arrangement register, consent windows, signing and a client portal. Zocks lists a long run of planning, portfolio and CRM connections that Briefi does not have.

Does Briefi connect to Redtail, Wealthbox, Salesforce, Xplan or Intelliflo?

No. Briefi cannot see planning software, platforms or those CRMs. Your team records each fee arrangement, policy and date, and every policy status shows the date somebody last confirmed it.

How does the annual fee consent work in Briefi?

Each ongoing arrangement has a reference day. Briefi works out from it, and from the consents recorded, whether consent is current, open, due or lapsed, using a window that runs from 60 days before each anniversary to 150 days after. The signed form records the consent on the arrangement. Your licensee’s own rules and your own advice on the law come first.

Does Briefi record the conversation?

Yes. It can join by bot on Pro and up, record in the browser, or record face to face with the standalone recorder, and it transcribes what was said. Zocks states that it never records client conversations, so if holding no recording matters to your practice, weigh that.

Where is my clients’ data stored?

Stored in Sydney. Some processing uses providers overseas. Sensitive content is encrypted with a key held for your workspace. The Security page lists the providers and where they are. Zocks’s security page names AWS as a subprocessor and does not give a region.

Can we run both while we switch?

Yes. Nothing in Briefi stops you keeping Zocks for existing meetings while you set up Briefi for new clients. Policies can be imported from a file; fee arrangements are not importable yet, so today you record each one on the client’s record.
