A free plan with unlimited recordings
Fathom’s free plan lists unlimited recordings and transcripts. Briefi has a free trial, then paid plans, so for notes alone Fathom costs less.2
Both record your meetings and write them up. Fathom is the simpler tool, with a free plan that records without limit and clean summaries, and its acquisition by Superhuman was announced on 14 September 2026. Briefi starts before the meeting with a brief, sends the follow-up from your own mailbox, and files everything to the client’s record, with forms and signing on the same record. If you want free, polished notes, Fathom is hard to beat. If the meeting is one step in client work, Briefi keeps the rest of it in one place.

Fathom is a notetaker; Briefi is a client record that takes notes. A row appears only where Fathom’s own pages say something we could check.
If any of these decides it for you, Fathom is likely the better fit today.
Fathom’s free plan lists unlimited recordings and transcripts. Briefi has a free trial, then paid plans, so for notes alone Fathom costs less.2
Fathom describes a clean transcript, summary and action items, and offers bot-free capture. If notes are all you need, there is less to set up.1
Fathom names Salesforce and HubSpot as CRM connections on its paid plans. Briefi pushes to HubSpot and six others, but not to Salesforce.21
Fathom’s help centre states that it has SOC 2 Type II.3
Briefi was built for practices that meet the same clients for years. The notes are the start of the record, not the whole of it.
Generated before the meeting from what you already hold on the client: the last recap, open actions and what is outstanding.
The recap becomes a follow-up draft for you to check. It is sent from your own Gmail, Microsoft 365 or SMTP mailbox, so it arrives as you.
Send a fact-find or engagement letter after the meeting. The client signs on their phone and the signed copy files to their record, with a certificate page.
Advisor adds a record for each client with registers for loans, policies, entities and claims, reviews, and an optional client portal.
Meetings plans have no signing, portal or registers. Sign and Advisor add them on the same workspace.
Briefi charges a monthly plan price, with the seats and allowances each plan includes set out on the pricing page. Fathom’s figures are as published on the date shown; check its page before you decide. Its labels for monthly and annual billing were not confirmed, so each paid plan shows both figures.
Briefi prices are in AUD and are read from the same price list as the pricing page, so they change when it does.
No. Superhuman’s acquisition of Fathom was announced on 14 September 2026 by Goodwin, the law firm that advised Fathom. We have not tested any difference in the product since.
For notes alone, yes, but Fathom has a free plan and Briefi does not. Briefi is worth the move when you also want a brief before the meeting, a follow-up from your own mailbox and the recap filed to the client.
It can. A meeting bot joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet calls on Pro and up. You can also record in the browser, or face to face with the standalone recorder, with no bot at all.
Stored in Sydney. Some processing uses providers overseas. Sensitive content is encrypted with a key held for your workspace. The Security page lists the providers and where they are. Fathom’s help centre states that its data is stored in the United States.
The Security page sets out how data is stored, encrypted and accessed, so your own review can proceed on the facts.
Yes. Nothing in Briefi stops you keeping Fathom for existing meetings while new ones are recorded in Briefi.
