Terms of service. Plainly.

privacy@briefi.sh
Archived version

This is the previous (v1.0) Terms text, effective 5 May 2026, kept for users who signed up while it was in force. The current Terms (v1.1, effective 5 June 2026) added fair-use language to §05 and a Version History §17. If you are not specifically auditing what you originally agreed to, read the current Terms instead.

Read the current Terms

These Terms govern your use of Briefi. They are written to be readable by an operator who runs a small business — not by a lawyer for a lawyer. If anything below is unclear, write to hello@briefi.sh and we will explain.

Acceptance + parties

By signing up for Briefi, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. "Briefi", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Trimorph Pty Ltd, an Australian company. "You" and "your" refer to the individual or entity using the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Briefi. By signing up, you confirm you have the right to bind any organisation on whose behalf you are creating an account, and you agree to use Briefi only for lawful purposes.

Account, workspaces and team members

One Briefi user can run multiple workspaces. Each workspace is owned by an individual or entity and contains the meetings, contacts, deals and threads of that workspace. The workspace owner is responsible for what's in it and for the actions of any team member they invite.

If you accept an invitation to a workspace, you agree to use the data inside it only for the purpose for which it was shared with you, and to comply with the workspace owner's reasonable instructions.

You are responsible for keeping your password and MFA factor secure. Notify us immediately at security@briefi.sh if you suspect unauthorised access.

Acceptable use

Don't use Briefi to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk email or any communication that violates the Spam Act 2003 (AU), CAN-SPAM, GDPR consent rules, or equivalent law in your recipients' jurisdictions.
  • Scrape, mirror, or otherwise access third-party services in ways that violate their terms (Google's Gmail policies, your CRM provider's API terms, etc.). Briefi calls these services on your behalf — your authorisation must remain valid.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from Briefi.
  • Use the public API to circumvent the rate limits or to resell access to your Briefi account.
  • Upload or transmit material that infringes intellectual property rights, contains malware, or is unlawful in your jurisdiction.
  • Use Briefi to harass, defame, or stalk individuals.

We may suspend access to any account that materially breaches this section. Where the breach is fixable and not abusive, we will give you a chance to fix it before terminating.

Plans, credits and billing

Plan pricing is published at /pricing in Australian dollars and is exclusive of GST where applicable. Plans bill monthly in advance unless you choose annual billing, in which case the annual amount is charged in advance.

Each AI-using action consumes credits at the rates published on the Pricing page. Plan credits reset on the first of each month. Top-up credits, once purchased, do not expire and burn after the plan cap each month.

Every signup starts on the Free plan with no card required. You stay on Free until you actively choose a paid plan.

Cancellation: you may cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Monthly plans run to the end of the paid period; annual plans receive a pro-rata refund of unused months net of credits already consumed at monthly-equivalent rates. Top-up credits already consumed are not refundable.

Failed payments: if Stripe cannot collect after multiple retries, AI features pause until you fix the payment method. Other features (calendar sync, inbox view, scheduling links) keep working for a 30-day grace period; after that the workspace is suspended.

Founder pricing

While the founder window is open, paid accounts may redeem a founder code at signup or upgrade. Founder pricing locks the discounted rate (currently $9 / mo Solo, $19 / mo Pro, $39 / mo Business) for the life of the account, including any future feature unlocks within the same plan tier. The window is time-limited and the current deadline is published on the homepage.

Founder pricing is enforced by a Stripe coupon with duration: forever and is non-transferable between accounts. We cannot revoke it later — even if we wanted to, Stripe is the source of truth for the discount.

Third-party integrations

Briefi connects to Google, your chosen CRM (10 supported — GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Monday.com, Pipedrive, Zoho, Salesforce, Close, Copper, ActiveCampaign, Microsoft Dynamics 365), email providers via IMAP/SMTP, third-party notetakers (Fireflies, Fathom, Read.ai, Grain) and other services to do its work. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms — Briefi is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or security.

If a third party changes their API, breaks compatibility, or terminates your account with them, Briefi's integration with them may stop working until they restore service or we ship a fix. We will communicate material outages on the public status page and via email to affected workspace owners.

AI output disclaimer

Briefi uses Anthropic's Claude models for generated content (briefs, follow-up drafts, inbox classification, deal-stage suggestions), AssemblyAI for batch transcript-of-record on browser recordings, and Deepgram for live captions when those are enabled during a recording. All AI output is suggestion-grade. You remain responsible for what you send and what you decide.

Verify AI output before relying on it for decisions that have legal, financial, or relationship consequences. We do not guarantee accuracy and accept no liability for actions taken on the basis of AI output.

API + MCP server

The public REST API (app.briefi.sh/help/api) and the hosted Model Context Protocol server (mcp.briefi.sh) are Business-plan features. Per-tenant API keys are bcrypt-hashed; you remain responsible for keys you mint and for any third-party AI client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.) you connect with them.

Both transports are rate-limited at 100 requests per minute per workspace and consume credits at the same rates as the in-app product. We may change endpoint shapes with reasonable notice; documented breaking changes ship at /api/v2 with a year of overlap during which both versions remain operational.

Public scheduling pages

If you publish a public booking link at briefi.sh/b/<your-slug>, the page is hosted by Briefi and visible to anyone with the URL. You are responsible for the content displayed on the page (page title, description, custom questions) and for handling any personal information visitors submit through it in line with your own privacy obligations.

Intellectual property

You own your data. Meetings, contacts, deals, threads, briefs, drafts, recordings — all yours. By using Briefi, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit and back up that data solely as needed to operate the service for you.

Briefi (including the website, the SaaS platform, the MCP server, and supporting documentation) is owned by Trimorph Pty Ltd and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property law. Other than the limited licence we grant you to use the service, no rights are transferred.

If you give us feedback or feature suggestions, we may use them without compensation or attribution.

Privacy

Our handling of personal information is governed by the Briefi Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Confidentiality

Each party may receive information from the other that is confidential and that a reasonable person would understand to be confidential given the nature of the information. Both parties agree to use such information only for the purposes of these Terms and to protect it with reasonable care. This obligation does not apply to information that becomes public through no breach of confidence, or that the receiving party developed independently.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings → Data & Export. We may terminate your account for material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or extended non-payment, with reasonable notice unless the breach is severe or fraudulent.

On termination, your access to the service ends. You retain a 30-day window to download a portable export of your data; after that, we permanently delete it (subject to the retention exceptions in the Privacy Policy, principally Stripe records).

Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — Intellectual property, Confidentiality, Warranty + liability, Disputes — survive.

Warranty + liability

Briefi is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Where Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply and cannot be excluded, our liability under those guarantees is limited to (at our option) re-supply of the service or refund of the fees paid for the affected period.

Subject to non-excludable rights, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is capped at the fees paid by you to Briefi in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits or business opportunity.

The cap and exclusions in this section do not apply to: (a) fraud or wilful misconduct; (b) gross negligence; or (c) breach of confidentiality or intellectual property obligations.

Disputes + governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising under or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

Before commencing court proceedings, both parties agree to first attempt informal resolution by writing (with reasonable detail) to the other for a period of at least 30 days. If informal resolution fails, the parties agree to attempt mediation through a mutually agreed mediator before litigating. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy and any plan-specific terms presented at checkout) constitute the entire agreement between you and Briefi regarding the service.
