What happens to what you send.

Who is actually asking

The business that sent you the link. Not us. They decide what to ask, who in their team can see your answers, and how long to keep them. Briefi is the software they use to do it — we hold the information on their behalf and do not use it for our own purposes.

In data-protection terms they are the controller and we are the processor. In practical terms: if you want something changed or removed, ask them, not us — replying to the email that brought you here is the fastest route.

What we collect from you

Only what you type, say or tick on the page they sent you, plus your name and email address as it appeared on the meeting invitation. If you dictate an answer, your browser turns your speech into text and we store the text. If your browser cannot do that and you record an answer instead, the audio is transcribed and then deleted.

We do not track you across other websites, and there is no advertising here.

Who can see it

The person who asked, and their colleagues in the same workspace. Not other Briefi customers, ever. Not us, except where an engineer needs access to fix a fault, which is logged.

Your answers are encrypted with a key belonging to that business, and they are used to prepare for your meeting — that is the whole purpose.

What we never do with it

• Sell it, or share it with advertising networks.
• Use it to train AI models. The providers we send content to are contractually excluded from training on it.
• Show it to another customer of ours.
• Email you marketing because you filled in a form.

How long it is kept

Your answers stay attached to that meeting for as long as the business keeps its record of the meeting. Recordings, where they are made at all, are deleted on a schedule that business sets — a week by default. The written transcript usually outlives the recording.

What you can ask for

Depending on where you live you may have the right to a copy of what is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Briefi builds those controls into the product, so the business you dealt with can action all three themselves.

One honest caveat about deletion: if you spoke in a meeting other people also attended, that recording and transcript are also their record. In that case the business can remove everything that identifies you while the meeting itself survives. We designed it that way on purpose — one person’s request should not erase someone else’s.
